U.S.VETS is the nation's largest nonprofit veteran services organization with boots on the ground to combat America's homeless veteran crisis head-on. Our holistic approach provides housing, counseling, career programs and support services to help veterans rebuild and thrive. Today, in the U.S., about 33,000 veterans experience homelessness, accounting for about 7 percent of all homeless adults. With 40 residential and service sites nationwide, we are uniquely positioned to help veterans and their families successfully transition to civilian life.

The National Social Media and Communications Coordinator will help implement communication strategies and initiatives that increase U.S.VETS' visibility and brand awareness through multiple digital, social and traditional platforms. The role will support communications in telling the U.S.VETS story, the stories of those we serve and the impact we have on veterans experiencing homelessness and navigating the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. The National Social Media and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for compelling content creation, day-to-day posting/scheduling and community management of national social media channels, in addition to support and guidance for the regional platforms. The incumbent will also be responsible for creating and disseminating branded materials and campaign content to internal and external partners in support of U.S.VETS' programs and services and facilitating and project managing incoming communications requests. The ideal candidate stays up to date on the latest social trends and can be described as detail-oriented, entrepreneurial and a strong writer with an understanding of both digital and traditional media landscapes. The position reports to the National Communications Manager and is part of the national development team with responsibilities to support U.S.VETS sites across the country.
