We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our accounting team. As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports. You will lead a team of accounts payable professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong leadership and analytical skills and a solid background in accounts payable to contribute to the financial success of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the accounts payable team, including workload management, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment disbursements.
- Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices, payments, or vendor accounts.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and accounting, to ensure smooth and efficient processing of invoices and payments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies and work collaboratively with other departments to implement changes.
- Develop and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve any vendor inquiries or concerns.
- Prepare various reports and analysis related to accounts payable activities and material vendor spend.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to accounts payable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursements, and expense reporting.
- Strong understanding of the procurement process and its relationship to accounts payable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to determine opportunities for process efficiencies.
- Proficient in using QBO and various billpay platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing accounts payable operations.
